a NEW Thursday thought

moreoftenthannot

Happy Thursday! This quote is from a recent post at The Cobweborium Emporium.  It’s a simple concept, but one that a lot of people don’t seem to grasp, or at least, don’t put into practice. I like to think of it as the M.O.T.N. Principle  (More Often Than Not). It’s just such a true principle that I had to use it as a Thursday thought.  Thanks Cobs!

a NEW photo of my week and a short Sunday sermon

Happy Sunday!  What do you think of this leaning palm tree?  I’m not really sure how it manages to keep alive.  It certainly isn’t perfect, but apparently it keeps struggling onward…apparently it’s not a quitter or gives up easily.

Have you ever wanted to give up? The scriptures are full of accounts of men and women who showed great courage to do whatever the Lord commanded, even when the tasks seemed impossible, even when they may have wanted to give up.  Read more at “Never, Never, Never Give Up” by Sister Mary N. Cook.

Have a great day! Do or learn something NEW!

a NEW Friday iPhone photo

Ok….this iPhone photo was taken out my car window (obviously dirty window…sorry for the smudge).  Sadly, it does NOT do this sunset justice, because you really can’t see the texture that was really in the sky that evening.  The cloud ripples that night were truly amazing!  But at least I had my phone on me and I have this photo to remind me of that amazing scene I witnessed.  Have a great Friday!  Do or Learn something NEW!

a NEW setting sun experience

sunsetchallenge

Happy hump day! Whoot! It’s Wednesday 🙂  So on Sunday, my daily ‘challenge’ was to watch the sunset.  Pretty easy, right?  Well, I discovered that I probably haven’t really ever waited for the sun to set.  I ALWAYS notice the really pretty sunsets.  I love them!  My husband knows I love them and when he sees one, he’s kind enough to call me and say “Honey, look outside!”  But I don’t remember ever just sitting and waiting for it to set.  It was a nice time to just sit and meditate and think over things while I watched the fiery ball slowly descend.  I recommend it!  You should try it, if you haven’t lately.  To know the exact time of the sunset where you’re at… there’s an app for that!    Check it out!
