a NEW photo of my week and a short Sunday sermon

Happy Sunday! I never get tired of visiting Cedar Breaks National Monument. They were having a Wildflower Festival the day we drove by.  We didn’t stop at the visitors center, but stopped down the road a bit and took these flower pics.

So for today’s short sermon, I’ll just feature the lyrics from the great musical sermon “How Great Thou Art”.  Because this place and many others are definitely an ‘awesome wonder’!!!

O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
And when I think of God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And lead me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow with humble adoration,
And then proclaim, “My God, how great Thou art!”
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

Happy Sunday! I’m going crazy and shooting tree blossoms all over town!  They are just SO pretty! Here’s another version:

I recently attended a workshop given by a religion professor.  He was very knowledgeable about the New Testament and told us about his family’s tradition of preparing for Easter.  He’s put together a website with all of his resources (HERE).

He, of course, starts with Palm Sunday (next week!!!!).

He writes: Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem has a long history in the Christian tradition, and it plays an important in the liturgies of the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and some Protestant churches. For me celebrating Palm Sunday truly opens Holy Week, setting it apart from other weeks by focusing my thoughts and faith on Christ my king.

I hope to take some time with my family and study “Resurrection Week” a bit more in depth this year also.  Have a great day!  Do or learn something NEW!

NEW photos of my week and a short Sunday sermon

Happy Sunday!  You know, one of the great things about buying myself roses, is that I get to photography them while they’re fresh (previous post) and then again when they’re all dried up!

I recently visited a NEW online art exhibit, all of paintings of Christ…His childhood, His ministry and the Last Supper. This is one of my favorites by Laurie Olson Lisonbee  (Here’s the link to the gallery)

Jesus wanted the Twelve—and He wants each of us—to learn that humility and service are worthy characteristics we should seek to obtain. He taught that no one is too important to serve others.

Have a great day!

Happy Sunday!

So, I had a goal this year that I’m slightly behind on 😦  I wanted to learn a NEW piano solo each month this year….but so far I’ve only learned 8  (I need to get to the piano more often!!!…but the year’s not over yet, right?!?)  Here’s my list so far:

1) March of the Siamese Children 2) Ave Maria 3)Time to Say Goodbye 4) Downton Abbey Theme 5) Come Thou Font of Every Blessing 6) Gymnopedie I 7) The Lord’s Prayer 8) This is the Christ

I love, love, LOVE the “This is the Christ” piece…and I think you will too.  So for today’s Sunday sermon, please enjoy listening to the sermon!  Here’s a few of the words:

I read His words, the words He prayed While bearing sorrow in Gethsemane; I feel His love, the price He paid. How many drops of blood were spilled for me? With saints of old in joyful cry I too can testify; This is the Christ; This is the Christ, the Holy Son of God, Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind. This is the Christ, the healer of our souls Who ransomed us with purest love divine!

Have a terrific day!  Do or learn something NEW!
